This Botswana Budget Camping Safari departs from the adventure capital of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Leaving the famous Vic Falls you are transferred to the Botswana .border from where we drive in our tour vehicle to nearby Kasane in northern Botswana.On the First afternoon, we explore botswana's chobe National park, renowned for its large hers of migratory elephant moving between the Okavango Delta in botswana and hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.chobe park ,one of botswana"s largest game parks , is also home to one of the hightest concentration of game in Africa including Hippo, Buffalo , Hyena ,wild dog, leopard and lion as well as numerous birds. returning to camp after our first rewarding game drive we enjoy dinner and unwind under starry skies . camping in twin share bow tents with shared facilities.

Today we venture into the south-western part of Chobe to the Savuti Marsh, only accessible by 4x4 safari vehicle. We embark on a game drive and then transfer to the Savuti area where we set off on a late afternoon game drive. The Savuti Marsh is the remnant of a vast inland lake intermittently fed by the Savuti Channel. The rolling savannah and grasslands of the Savuti area support various game species including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, antelope species and of course elephants. Numerous predators such as lion, leopard, hyena and wild dog are in turn attracted to the Savuti due to the abundance of prey species. We also go game viewing just north of Savuti in the Linyanti area of Chobe Park where woodlands, lagoons and floodplains attract a variety of wildlife and plenty of birds. Linyanti is inhabited by large concentrations of lions, leopards and wild dogs, as well as hippos, antelopes and vast herds of elephants.

Next, our wildlife safari takes us to the diverse Moremi Game Reserve, or the adjacent Khwai Game Management Area, on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta. Moremi Reserve is a more compact and less visited game viewing area compared to Chobe Park, yet this pristine wilderness park offers exceptional and varied game viewing. Moremi Reserve consists of diverse habitats from Mopane woodland and Acacia forest to floodplains and lagoons resulting in an area of remarkable natural beauty. Leopard, wild dog, cheetah and lion are commonly sighted as are elephant, giraffe and zebra. Hyena and honey badger are also commonly spotted after dark at camp.There are times of the year when it is preferable to visit the adjecent game management area instead of Moremi, for optional viewing.

After an early morning game drive, we pack up camp mid-morning and travel to Maun. Maun is one of the main tourist hubs of Botswana as the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Our journey there takes us through huge areas of community, protected land and this is an opportunity to witness the lives of the rural community working their land and tending their cattle. The Okavango Delta is our next Botswana safari destination. The Delta is an inland natural wetland system spreading across over around 1.6 million hectares of flat floodplains in northern Botswana. The source of the Delta lies north in the highlands of Angola, running down into Botswana where the waters empty into the extensive Kalahari Desert. The Okavango Delta forms the largest inland delta in the world - an intricate network of waterways, winding channels, pristine lagoons and secluded islands. We spend time enjoying the delta floodplains as we navigate the waterways in mokoros, traditional dug-out canoes, guided by experienced and knowledgeable ‘polers’. Moving through the labyrinth of channels by mokoro is an ideal way of sighting the amazing variety of untamed animals found in this unique Botswana delta system. We arrive back in Maun in good time to take an optional ( own expense ) flight over the delta which adds another dimension to your okavango Delta experiences. Leaving Maun we head south-east to the Makgadikgadi Pans, stopping en route at the interesting village of Gweta. Arriving at the huge salt pan, we are greeted by big baobab trees, called Chapman’s Baobabs. Rising over the vast shimmering salt pan on the edge of the Kalahari desert some of these old baobabs have a circWe sleep out under the star-studded African skies - an unforgettable African bush experience. During the rainy season, it may not be possible to sleep out on the Pan, in which case we would camp near Nata and have the opportunity to see the flamingos of the bird sanctuary. We return to Kasane travelling through vast open savannahs, so keep an eye out for wildlife migrating between Chobe National Park and Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. We transfer vehicles and leave our guide at the border before crossing back into Zimbabwe for the last leg of our journey to Victoria Falls, where this Budget Botswana Safari comes to an end in the early afternoon
